Bridges

A dental bridge is an alternative option to replace one missing tooth. This can be more economical option than an implant or suitable in cases where implant surgery is not appropriate. Placing a bridge requires preparation of adjacent teeth which can be considered somewhat beneficial if they are structurally weakened, but it is a major downside if adjacent teeth are sound. The added load on the abutment teeth and increased difficulty of cleaning must be considered when this option is explored.

In general, we do not recommend replacing more than one missing tooth with a dental bridge.

Why You Should Opt for a Dental Bridge

You might have recently lost a tooth due to an accident or decay, but there is always a solution. Consult us for a dental bridge that is literally a bridge cemented to two existing, healthy teeth, with an extra tooth in the middle to fill the gap of the missing one instead of costly implants.

A bridge is a much better option as it is permanent, and it is best to opt for one if only one tooth is missing. Dentures work best if you have many teeth missing and there are no existing teeth to anchor a bridge to.

What Services You Can Expect From Us Other Than a Front Dental Bridge

When a tooth at the back of the mouth falls out or breaks off, invisible to anyone, people often tend to not attend to it. However, it’s vital that you visit us for a tooth bridge, no matter where it is in your mouth. A missing tooth can lead to teeth misaligning, jaw pain, and sometimes more significant issues. Here are some of the other treatments you can expect at our practice:

  • We believe in early intervention and preventative care as far as possible. We do minimally invasive dentistry using advanced techniques and the latest materials for mimicking natural teeth, so you do not have to undergo unnecessary stress in the chair.

  • It is stating the obvious to say we offer examination and cleaning. Still, frequent visits for these two processes are exactly what you should do to experience the benefit of preventative care. So book your visit to avoid any serious problems from occurring.

  • We are here for dental emergencies around Silverdale and root canals, crowns, teeth whitening, and implants.

Yes, we offer you essential dentistry services for adults, but our dedication to customer service is what sets us apart from any other practice in our vicinity.

Before you visit us, you might want to set your mind at ease by arming yourself with information that can often lead to reduced anxiety for a visit to the dentist. Here are a few options to consider if you have lost a tooth:

  • You recently lost a tooth due to decay or an accident. We will fasten an artificial tooth via crowns and a bridge to the two adjacent teeth beside the gap. We can also use a cantilever bridge that only attaches to one tooth if, for instance, when a molar is the anchor.

  • Implants. This might be a more invasive procedure, which we recommend when you’re missing multiple teeth, as it is a more secure option. Teeth are fastened to a titanium rod that is implanted directly into the jawbone instead of a fixed dental bridge fitting over the teeth.

  • You can get dentures, but again, although this might be the cheapest option, it may bring more discomfort and cause sores and pain in your mouth. We will always recommend the most secure, natural-looking procedure first rather than advise you to acquire dentures.
